Reason for Seeking Public Office:
I am running for State Representative in district #148 for many reasons
and one of the biggest reasons I am running is because spending in state government is out of control
and the 20-40 age group are going to be the ones who will have to deal with the problem not just in the future, but right now.
I would like to see a lot of things happen in Augusta and I am ready to roll up my sleeves and get to work, supporting my community and district to the best of my ability. I look forward to door to door campaigning, to attending dinners and functions, and talking with all sorts if people so that I can find out what concerns them most in our district and then bring those concerns down to Augusta to represent them.
After following my grandfather, Peter Edgecomb and volunteering on 4 of his campaigns, I have grown a strong liking for politics. Currently, I am a minor in political science so that I may gain as much knowledge as I can. I am young -- and obviously cannot possibly know everything there is to know, but I am very motivated to make it to Augusta so that I can gain as much wisdom and knowledge as I can to better represent my community.
The Maine Republican Party needs young people to make a difference in Augusta. And in my neighboring towns we have had two amazing young representatives; in Alex Willette and Tyler Clark. I believe I can follow right behind them and be a very effective representative from district #148 and I would very much appreciate your support in November!
