Priority Issues:

Nearly every part of my agenda for when I get to Congress is geared towards jobs and economic growth in some way. Americans are hurting, and I am determined to cut the unemployment rate in our district and fight to make sure we all have ways to find economic security.

1) Tackle Unemployment and Workforce Development.

What I Have Done:

I have been at the helm of JobScout, a unique online platform that teaches people how to use the Internet to find work. I am committed to crafting innovative education solutions to help the millions of Americans who are not yet online and to work towards solving the unemployment crisis.

What I Will Focus on When Elected:

Bring recognition to the youth unemployment crisis and start working on solutions targeting this demographic.

Revisit the way we get people ready for work by enhancing workforce development programs to teach people the new skills they need to find jobs in today?s economy.

2) Work to Promote Digital Literacy and Broadband.

What I Have Done:

Worked and launched ItsEasierThanYouThink.org to promote digital literacy awareness.

Written op-eds and spoken across the United States on digital literacy and the connection to workforce readiness, healthcare and personal finance.

Forge partnerships with other organizations to tackle broadband penetration and digital literacy.

What I Will Focus on When Elected:

Ensure all Americans have the skill set necessary to use the Internet and have the availability of Internet access.

Get support for federal programs to support digital skills learning.

Work to secure the adoption of a National Digital Literacy policy.

Join efforts to support STEM and computer science education.

3) Protect Consumer Rights Online.

What I Have Done:

Spearheaded efforts around a Social Network Users? Bill of Rights.

Been on the Board of Directors for Without My Consent, working to protect victims of online harassment.

Through my legal practice, working with technology companies and other startups to ensure that personal data is adequately protected.

Engaged in education for school districts and parents around issues such as children?s data and cyberbullying.

What I Will Focus on When Elected:

Protect women and men who are victimized by online harassment, such as revenge porn, by seeking federal criminal penalties.

Partner on and work to push forward legislative efforts to protect consumers from the practices of data brokers.

Take a smart approach to privacy legislation around the use of social networks that protects consumers but still allows companies to innovate.

Reason for Seeking Public Office:

I'm a proud Democrat running for Congress who's not afraid to roll up my sleeves and fight for our district. It?s time to push the ?reset? button and give our district a fresh start. Our home is ripe for economic growth and can accommodate burgeoning industries, such as the technology sector. I want to fight for new job opportunities. I want to lead the charge to cut over 20% unemployment rate in our district.

Nearly every part of my agenda for when I get to Congress is geared towards jobs and economic growth in some way. Americans are hurting, and I am determined to cut the unemployment rate in our district and fight to make sure we all have ways to find economic security.
