First Job:
Union apprentice carpenter
Hobbies or Special Talents:
My wife and I enjoy growing most of our own fruits and vegetables. I like to experiment with tree crops that will do well on our West Virginia hills. For example - Persimmons, improved black walnuts, hickories, pecans, apples, peaches, pears and blue berries - raspberries.
Name one thing you would most like to do before you die:
See people work together to solve the problems of poverty, resource depletion, lack of good jobs, and global warming.
Personal Hero and Why:
John L. Lewis As a union organizer he helped the miners and steel workers have better pay, safety, and retirement benefits.
Priority Issues:
We could all work together and solve many of our problems. We need to renew our Democracy, Economy, and Climate. All of which are possible when we work cooperatively. As someone that makes a surplus of solar power with 16 DIY installed solar panels I'm happy to share my experience in this as well as family food production.
Reason for Seeking Public Office:
I did not want to watch another election where the issues of poverty, corporate control, and global warming were not discussed.
Spouse's Occupation:
My wife Brenda Wilson teaches teachers at West Virginia State University
