Priority Issues:

Education
Education plays a key role in future economic development and growth. My goal is for my own children and grandchildren to receive the same quality education I was afforded growing up in Cherokee County when teachers decided how to teach because they knew their students best. I will work to ensure a collaborative relationship between legislators and teachers. This is a critical part of the educational policy making process, and if the politicians won't come to the teachers, I will go to them.

I believe in full funding of all Georgia's schools, and I support parent involvement in a child's education to the fullest extent. Parents need to know and understand the issues when it comes to their child's education to help promote academic success.

Economic Growth
As an Economics major and AP Microeconomics teacher, I understand the importance of bringing jobs to Georgia and its many municipalities in order to maintain a healthy tax base. I would support legislation that encourages businesses to move to Georgia, in turn bringing jobs, people, and increased revenue to our state and local governments. We must also invest in our infrastructure and ensure that counties are able to work together to meet the needs of their local businesses and community members.

Tax Reform
The tax code, as it stands, is causing an undue financial burden on Georgia's tax payers, both individuals and businesses, each and every year. I would support any effort at simplifying the current tax code and am very interested in eliminating the Georgia Income Tax by supporting consumption based tax legislation. As a staunch supporter of the Fair Tax, at the national level, I am also equipped to make well informed decisions about economic policy given my background.

The 2nd Amendment
I am a firm believer in the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. I would support legislation that limits government's role in the life of the individual. The rights of American citizens are the cornerstone of individual liberty. Legislation that upholds the rights of the people, including their right to bear arms is of the utmost importance to me. One of my goals would be to ensure that all Georgians have the right to protect themselves in times of need.

The Right To Life
I believe that life begins at conception. I believe that it is the duty of the government to protect all life, no matter how young. I would support efforts to increase awareness about alternatives to abortion for those in need.

Ethics
I personally only received funds from individual supporters. This is critical to maintaining integrity in government, and I do not want to be at the mercy of any special interest. Ethics reform is critical to fostering a relationship of trust between the public and elected officials. Ensuring that any elected officials' first job is to represent the interest of the people and not lobbyists is an important part of maintaining the integrity of those who serve. My goal for ethics reform is to support limits on campaign contributions to candidates from groups, as well as other efforts to limit gifts from lobbyists once in office.

Individual Rights
I do not support eminent domain, and I believe the government should only step in to promote and enhance free markets and provide services necessary for maintaining proper infrastructure and protecting citizens and their rights. I believe in promoting homegrown entrepreneurship and enhancing Georgia's legislation aimed at attracting new businesses to the state. I want make sure that Georgia remains the number one best state in which to conduct business.

Reason for Seeking Public Office:

The top priority of our elected representatives should be to do what's right and what's best for our families. I'm running for State House because I believe our families deserve a dependable conservative leader who will do the right thing, stand up for our families and provide the effective leadership needed to put our conservative principles into action.

Our current State Representative has failed to do what's right for our families, and he has proven that he cannot be trusted to represent our community. He is concerned only with pushing his radical agenda.

You have my word that I will be a dependable conservative who will be effective in protecting our values and putting our conservative principles into action by working with other leaders and legislators.

Together, we can have the type of leadership that will do what's best for our families. I ask for your vote.

I hope everyone has had a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I want to say thank you to everyone who has volunteered and supported me since early November when we decided to take on this huge task! I believe I am the right person for the job because I am a true conservative who wishes to listed to the voice of the people. I am not a politician, and I don't plan on playing politics. I think change is coming, and I am a step in the right direction for the state of Georgia and district 22. I have a solid moral foundation upon which I will not waver, and I have a proven track record of making a positive impact in people's lives. I want to have that same positive influence on my peers down at the Gold Dome.

Thank you to the many volunteers who have made phone calls, walked door to door, attended rallies, put up signs, donated items and money, stuffed envelopes, and talked about me to friends and family. This is a true grass roots effort that would not be possible without each and every one of you. I am humbled and blessed every day by the outpouring of love and support by so many around me. This has been one of the best learning experiences of my life.

I want everyone to know that I am completely dedicated to reducing the size and scope of government, decreasing/eliminating the personal income tax in the state of Georgia, promoting economic growth and supporting entrepreneurs and small businesses, and focusing on education issues that impact all of us. My background in economics, political science, and education provides me a unique opportunity to know and understand certain issues and enables me to make very well informed decisions.

As a wife and mother, I have a vested interest in bettering our community. I want our educational system to remain strong, and I want there to be jobs available for my children when they graduate. I want to make sure our local infrastructure can support local job growth, and I believe that education and transportation are both investments in our future. My husband and I understand the very large undertaking at stake here, and we both agree that these are immediate sacrifices we are willing to make in order to ensure a better future for ourselves, our children, and our community.
