Priority Issues:
Jobs, Schools, and Farms. We must also address the ethics issues in Albany that have been preventing the Southern Tier and Finger Lakes from getting its fair share.
Reason for Seeking Public Office:
I want to better the future for my two daughters and children all across the Southern Tier and Finger Lakes. We owe our future generations higher ethical standards and a State government that works for everyone.
I have fallen in love with this region. It's my home in the way a place becomes home when you live and work and raise your children in it. I want it to be the best possible home, not only for my family, but for everyone who lives here. Like you, I'm concerned about real challenges facing us. We need strong leaders who will make the right decisions to restore our economy, protect our environment, champion education and enhance our quality of life.
I am a mother and a lawyer - two jobs in which I advocate tirelessly for those who can't advocate for themselves. So when there are children in my daughter's class who go hungry at night because their parents can't make ends meet, I know that I can advocate passionately in Congress on their behalf and on behalf of all families in need. I see that we're losing jobs and small businesses are closing. Yet I'm optimistic because we have great strengths in agriculture, tourism, education, high-tech businesses, and large industry. I'm focused on shaping federal policy to support New York businesses so that the jobs can stay here. I'm committed to finding solutions that build on our strengths. We do not have to choose between prosperity and protecting our environment and health -- we can preserve our way of life and build upon it. I'm running for Congress because I believe one-hundred-percent in the people I hope to serve. You are our greatest strength, and together, we can restore vitality to this region.
