Reason for Seeking Public Office:

My desire to represent district 3 in the South Dakota Senate is based on the following but not exclusive to:

1. The need for accountability in State government, legislative, judicial and executive
2. Providing support for 48,000 South Dakota citizens who desperately need health care
3. Taking responsibility to fund education at a respectable level
4. Defending civil rights and prohibiting discrimination and abuse
5. There are many other issues including infrastructure, XL pipe line, low wages, human trafficking and more

The balance of power in Pierre is one-sided. There needs to be at least a healthy minority in place for a positive result in state government. As a member of the Aberdeen City council, I have been a voice for citizens concerns with little regard for popularity and will be a voice for constituents of District 3 in the South Dakota Senate.

This will be an uphill battle. The first hill has been climbed. Now I'm looking to scale the summit in defeating David Novstrup in November. The need for financial support is eminent.
