Campaigns are insider gangs manipulating truth to create fear and acquire power. The media feasts on the negative -- the more brazenly outrageous, the greater the feast, the greater their gluttony.  The people?  Well, their attentions are simply hijacked by the endless bombardment of alarms, warnings, and emergencies flashing the latest in egregiousness across every portal.

 Lies are now common, expected and accepted. Facts are boring and now buried deep under the enormous pile of atrociousness we now call our democracy. If only people knew of Vote Smart, of what we have built, and used it to take back control of their candidates and their government!

 We are in a new world where you, as a Vote Smarter, are one of the last lucid voices standing for reason.  You have been the antitheses of all we have heard and seen during this horrid election.  From where I stand the country owes you a great debt for the facts that survive and the reason that is so dependent upon them.  If only ALL our fellow Americans knew of us!
