Arizona Special Election CD-8, June 12, 2012

11 June 2012

The special election to fill the seat formerly held by Arizona's Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords is to be held tomorrow. The winner will hold office for the remainder of the AZ CD-8 term, and then will have the opportunity to run again as an incumbent. The election in November will be especially interesting for two reasons: First, the special election campaign will be fresh in the minds of many of Arizona's 8th-District voters. Second, the area will fall under redistricting and AZ-8 will newly be known, for the most part, as AZ-2. This means that the voter population will have changed, requiring changes in the incumbents strategy, chipping away at some of the advantages that incumbents often face.

Prepare yourself for the election by having a look at our information on tomorrow's candidates:

Ron Barber (D)

Jesse Kelley (R)

Charlie Manolakis (Green)
