The Senate on Friday, Sept. 7 voted to adopt the conference version of HR 2669, regarding student lender rates and pell grants. The Senate also passed HR 2764 on Thursday by a vote of 81-12. This is an appropriations bill for the Department of State and for foreign operations. Funds in this bill can be used most notably to fight the war on terror and AIDS.

Look for potential votes in the coming weeks in Congress regarding policy in Iraq and mortgage practices. After examining some judicial nominations, the Senate on Monday will resume consideration of HR 3074, an appropriations bill for the Departments of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and Transportation.
