The Project Vote Smart University of Arizona office is up and running for its second semester in Tucson. Our office provides a desert oasis for political junkies and students who like their democracy with a little meat on its bones. Equipped with two air conditioning units, over twenty new computers (eat your heart out, Montana), and an elite team of student interns, the UA office is perfectly suited to the kind of intensive research that makes Project Vote Smart an indispensable resource for voters across the country. This semester we've expanded our repertoire beyond Key Votes and Ratings to include Speeches, City/County, and general research in preparation for the 2008 election.

The Fall 2007 interns have shown incredible potential over the past couple weeks of training. Since they work in so many different programs, they are developing an intimate familiarity with our data-entry system, current members of Congress, the U.S. Cabinet, state legislatures, and nearly 200 presidential candidates. Thanks to their dedication, we expect this to be an even more productive semester than the last. We encourage local members and community members to stop by and see our hard-working crew in action.
