It's so refreshing to see so many enthusiastic young adults so excited to commit for 10 weeks to become a Project Vote Smart student intern with nothing other than the promise of a hot meal and a warm bed in the pursuit of saving democracy. I know when I decided that I wanted to intern at Project Vote Smart, I was met with a lot of questioning and second-guessing from family and friends. To move to somewhere as isolated as The Great Divide Ranch (45 minutes from the nearest town in Montana) without any pay takes a lot of guts. Then comes the monumental task of checking and entering endless amounts of data into our database in addition to every other tedious, yet significant task we perform at Project Vote Smart. It certainly is not the most exciting or glamorous job in the world, but what our interns do at Project Vote Smart is really making a difference. As an intern turned staff member, I appreciate anyone willing to dedicate as much time and as much of themselves as our interns do to such a noble cause. These extraordinary individuals, who are so eager to make a difference, will always be the ones to ensure Project Vote Smart is everything we intend it to be in saving democracy.
