Vote to override a veto of a bill that prohibits local governmental units from limiting a persons ability to carry a concealed weapon.
- Removes language that allows cities and counties to adopt zoning measures related to firearms and to regulate the carrying of a firearm on ones person (sec. 1). - Allows district court and treatment facility records to be released to the Kansas bureau of investigation for use in determining eligibility to purchase firearms or if the person is involuntarily committed (secs. 2, 8). - Prohibits providing a firearm license to someone who has been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence (sec. 4). - Allows private businesses and city divisions to prohibit carrying concealed weapons within a building owned by that entity (sec. 6). - Prohibits cities and counties from further restricting the carrying of concealed weapons by licensed individuals (sec. 7).
