Highlights:

  • Authorizes the compensation for an injury resulting in a disability to be 66.66% of the wages received at the time of injury, but not more than the maximum weekly income benefit (Sec. 1). 

  • Establishes this compensation must be paid during the period of such disability but not beyond 300 weeks (Sec. 1). 

  • Requires that compensation for disabilities resulting from permanent injury in addition to the amount paid for temporary disability, except that the compensation for temporary disability shall cease as soon as the extent of the permanent disability is ascertainable (Sec. 1). 

  • Specifies the compensation for the loss of a thumb, and first, second, third, fourth finger and that of the equivalent of toes (Sec. 1). 

  • Defines what is considered “permanent total loss and injury (Sec. 1). 

  • Establishes that if the employee and employer are unable to agree upon an amount of compensation to be paid it will equal the amount of compensation that is no more than the maximum weekly income benefit and no less than the minimum weekly income benefit (Sec. 1). 

  • Authorizes the employee to be entitled to compensation from his or her employer for temporary disability while undergoing physical or medical rehabilitation and while undergoing vocational rehabilitation (Sec. 1).
