Title: Prohibits Lawsuits Against Pesticide Companies if they are Following E.P.A. Warning Guidelines
Vote to pass a bill that prohibits lawsuits against pesticide companies if they are following E.P.A. warning guidelines in the state of Iowa.
Establishes that any pesticide registered with the United States Environmental Protection Agency under the Federal Insecticide Fungicide and Rodenticide Act is sufficient to satisfy the requirement for a warning regarding health or safety (Sec. 1).
Requires the label on the pesticide to be consistent with the most recent human health assessment (Sec. 1).
Authorizes the use of certain pesticides regulated by the United States Environmental Protection Agency under the federal Insecticide Fungicide and Rodenticide Act (Sec. 1).
Specifies that the bill provides defense from civil liability associated with the use of pesticides that are registered with the EPA (Sec. 1).
Requires that the pesticide complies with the following requirements (Sec. 1):
It is approved by the EPA;
It is consistent with the most recent human health assessment performed under the federal Act; and
It is consistent with the EPA’s carcinogenicity classification for pesticides.
