Vote to pass a bill that amends provisions relating to enforcement power of the attorney general in the state of Nebraska.

Highlights:

• Requires the Attorney General to request an ex parte order from the district court to temporarily freeze or impound connected accounts or assets (Sec. 1). 

• Establishes that if granted, each order shall be effective for a period of 14 days and the court must set the matter for a hearing (Sec. 1). 

• Establishes the Attorney General as responsible for providing notice of the order and hearing to the owner of the account or asset (Sec. 1). 

• Authorizes the court to extend the temporary order for any period up to the completion of all proceedings under the Consumer Protection Act or the Uniform Trade Practices Act unless earlier modified (Sec. 1).

• Establishes that if the defendant demands any claim under the Uniform Deceptive Trade Practices Act it may be tried by a jury (Sec. 1).
