Title: Amends the Standards for Tobacco Shop Inspections
Vote to pass a law that increases standards for tobacco shop inspections in the state of Iowa.
Requires consent to be given to health departments and official county health officers, police, county sheriff and deputy, member of the department of public safety and certified peace officers to enter areas of premise where to consume nicotine and vapor products on a retailers premises (Sec. 1).
Requires a warrant for inspection of private records, a private business office, or attached living quarters (Sec. 1).
Prohibits individuals who are not certified peace officers from an unlimited scope of their inspections of permitted premises to the regulatory authority under which the inspection is conducted (Sec. 1).
Requires identification to be shown to a retailer or employee for all persons who enter a permitted premise prior to commencing the inspection (Sec. 1).
Establishes that this bill doesn’t apply to criminal investigations conducted by peace officers (Sec. 1).
