Title: Authorizes Minors Access to Services that Prevent Sexually Transmitted Diseases Without Parental Consent
Vote to pass a bill that authorizes minors to access services that prevent sexually transmitted diseases without parental consent.
Authorizes minors under the age of 18 to express consent to access services that prevent sexually transmitted diseases without needing parental consent or approval from a legal guardian (Sec. 1).
Authorizes physicians, physician assistant, registered nurse, or pharmacist who is an employee or volunteer at a family resource center to do the following without needing parental consent or approval from a legal guardian, including (Sec. 2):
Provide services for the prevention of sexually transmitted diseases; and
Provide, dispense, or adminster a contraceptive drug or device to a minor.
Specifies that the provisions of this bill shall take effect immediately upon passage and approval by the governor (Sec. 3).
