Title: Requires Prosecutors Using Jailhouse Informants to Disclose Their Criminal History
Vote to pass a bill that requires a prosecutor using a jailhouse informant to disclose that subject's criminal history.
Requires a prosecutor who intends to use a jailhouse informant to disclose the following information regarding that subject, including, but not limited to (Sec. 7):
A summary of the informant’s criminal history;
A copy of any cooperation agreement; or
Any benefit that has been or will be provided to the informant in exchange for their testimony.
Requires the aforementioned information disclosure be made as soon as practicable before a trial, but not later than 30 days before a trial, unless a court revises the deadline (Sec. 7).
Specifies that the provisions of this bill shall take effect upon passage and approval by the governor (Sec. 8).
