Title: Amends the State Equal Pay for Equal Work Act
Vote to concur with house amendments and pass a bill that amends Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act to modify pay transparency requirements for job listings and internal promotion opportunities.
Defines terms associated with the “Equal Pay for Equal Work Act” (Sec. 2).
Requires the director to investigate complaints and other potential employer violations (Sec. 2).
Specifies that the director may use information gathering provisions to investigate violations of the act (Sec. 2).
Requires that employers make it reasonably known to each employee of each new job opportunity within the same day and prior to the date which the employer makes a selection decision for the position (Sec. 3).
Exempts companies who have an employer who is physically located outside of Colorado and has fewer than 15 employees (Sec. 3).
Requires employers to disclose the following information about new job opportunities (Sec. 3):
Hourly or Salary Composition;
General description of the benefits;
The date of the application window.
Requires the employer to disclose when a candidate is chosen for the new job opportunity within thirty days of the selection along with the following info (Sec. 3):
Name of the candidate;
Employees former job title
Selected employees new job title
Positions open for other employees with a similar interest
Requirements for career advancement
