  • Requires the Authority or Department to provide components of the upcoming report upon request to the President Pro Tempore of the Senate, Speaker of the House of Representatives, and the Governor (Sec. 1).

  • Establishes the School Nurse Pilot Program Revolving Fund in the State Treasury (Sec. 2).

  • Requires that the fund be continuous and not subject to fiscal year limitations, as well as consist of all monies designated for and eligible for deposit under law (Sec. 2).

  • Requires that the State Department of Health utilize the funds deposited to the School Nurse Pilot Program Revolving Fund for the purpose of implementing a pilot program to have school nurse services that address health, mental health, and social service needs of the students and families in order to help students have the best opportunity to learn and be successful (Sec. 2).

  • Requires that the pilot program include the following criteria and limitations (Sec. 2):

    • Encompasses a contiguous three-country region with no  more than 20% of the areas school districts having enrollments greater than 3,000 weighted average daily membership;

    • Has a single nonprofit provider coordinate implementation.

  • Authorizes the State Department of Health to announce the rules, policies, and procedures as required to administer provisions (Sec. 2).

  • Requires this act to go into effect on November 1, 2023 (Sec. 3).
