Title: Appropriate Funds for the 2023 State Budget
Vote to concur with senate amendments and pass a bill that appropriates funds for the 2023 state budget.
Appropriates $180 billion in state, local, and federal infrastructure funds over the next 10 years in order to fund climate and energy goals and establish 400,000 state jobs (Sec. 2).
Appropriates $22.3 billion for the state Rainy Day Fund and an additional $37.8 billion total budgetary reserves to invest in public education, healthcare, climate action, addressing homelessness, and other priorities (Sec. 4).
Appropriates $3.4 billion from the general budget to the state Judicial Branch and $2.7 billion to the state supreme court for various costs and expenses, as well as $1.9 billion to the Trial Court Trust Fund (Sec. 7-8).
Appropriates $2.05 billion from the general budget to the Transit and Intercity Rail Capital Program (Sec. 22).
Appropriates $1 billion from the general budget to the Department of Housing and Community Development for financial assistance programs (Sec. 54).
Appropriates $2.9 billion from the general budget for support for the Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (Sec. 75).
Appropriates $35 billion from the general budget for the State Department of Health Care Services and California Medical Assistance Program (Sec. 134).
Appropriates $90.1 billion from the general budget for the State Department of Health Care Services for benefits and service expenditures (Sec. 134).
Appropriates $2.98 billion from the general budget to the State Department of State Hospitals (Sec. 147).
Appropriates $6.2 billion from the general budget to the State Department of Social Services (Sec. 163).
Appropriates $7.6 billion from the general budget to the State Department of Social Services (Sec. 163).
Specifies the appropriation provisions of this bill shall take effect after passage and approval by the governor (Sec. 270).
