Vote to pass a bill that limits the scope of the post-secondary career initiatives plan.

Highlights:

• Requires the Idaho launch Post-Secondary Career Initiatives Plan provide annual reports  to the appropriate legislative committee for oversight on an annual basis by january of each year (Sec. 1).

• Specifies that the aforementioned report to the legislature shall cover sufficient data regarding the following, including the (Sec. 4):

• Number and demographics of eligbile students applying for grants;

• Number and type of eligible institutions approved by the council;

• List of in-demand careers prioritized by the council;

• Number of grants awarded and demographics of participants; and

• Data to demonstrate the effectiveness of the program.

• Appropriates between $60-70 million for the initial costs for the Idaho Launch In-Demand Careers fund for Idaho state graduates (Sec. 1).

• Prohibits the council from reimbursing more than 80% or $8,000 of the program’s total tuition and fees whichever is less (Sec. 2).

• Specifies that the provisions in this bill shall be in effect beginning July 1, 2023 and be null and void and no longer in force after July 1, 2029 (Sec. 2-6).
