Vote to pass a bill that authorizes the removal of the 30-day waiting period for people with a class 2 license and allows citizens to carry concealed firearms in North Dakota if they have a government-issued ID.

Highlights:

  • Prohibits any individual from carrying a loaded firearm in any motor vehicle or snowmobile in the state unless the individual is a member of the following, including, but not limited to (Sec. 1):

    • A memebr of U.S. armed forces or state national guard 

    • A law enforcment officer;

    • An individual with a valid concealed weapons license;

    • An individual engaged in lawful hunting or trapping; or

    • A security guard or private investigator.

  • Authorizes the removal of the 30-day waiting period for individuals with a class 2 firearm license (Sec. 3).

  • Authorizes lawful citizens 18 and older to carry concealed firearms in North Dakota if they have a government-issued ID or drivers license (Sec. 4).
