Title: Specifies Mail-In Voting Regulations
Vote to pass a bill that specifies mail-in voting regulations.
Requires voter registration offices to hold a voter registration session from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM the day before an election (Sec. 4).
Requires the state to make voter registration information and ballots available in multiple languages (Sec. 5).
Requires elections officials to allow early mail-in voting in all primary elections (Sec. 10).
Establishes multiple methods for voters to apply for mail-in ballots, including at their local elections office, on the state secretary or town’s website, or using an application mailed to all registered voters prior to elections (Sec. 10).
Requires cities and towns to provide indoor spaces for early in-person voting, open for a minimum number of hours per day (including weekends) on days designated for early voting (Sec. 10).
Requires the state secretary to distribute ballots to early mail-in voters at least 30 days before an election (Sec. 10).
Requires corrections officers to assist incarcerated individuals eligible to vote with the voting process by displaying election and registration information, as well as providing and returning ballots (Sec. 10).
Requires towns and cities to appoint law enforcement officials to protect elections officers at each polling place (Sec. 13).
Requires the state secretary to conduct a public information campaign about early and mail-in voting options (Sec. 24).
