Title: Amends Police Regulations Related to Data Collection and Interrogation
Vote to pass a bill that amends police regulations related to data collection and interrogation methods and techniques.
Requires that on or before November 1, 2023 the Department of Public Safety submit a report to the Senate Committees on Government Operations and on Judiciary and the Executive Director of Racial Equity specifying the following information (Sec. 1a):
The data currently being collected by law enforcement and methods of collection;
Any impediments to collecting data including interrogation methods; and
Proposed remedies to resolve any impediments.
Establishes a Giglio Database Study Committee to study the appropriate structure and process to administer a database designed to catalogue potential impeachment information concerning law enforcement agency witnesses or affiants (Sec. 1a).
Establishes that this act shall take effect July 1, 2022 (Sec. 6).
