Title: Prohibits Vaccine Mandates in School

Vote to pass a bill that prohibits vaccine mandates in any public school district.

Highlights:

 

  • Prohibits a school district, intermediate school district, or public school academy from adopting or implementing a policy that requires enrolled students receive a EUA vaccination to do any of the following, including (Sec.1):

    • Enter or attend a school operated by the school district, intermediate school district, or public school academy;

    • Ride a school bus or other school-related vehicle; or

    • Participate or attend a school-sponsored activity or event.

  • Prohibits a school district, intermediate school district, or public school academy from adopting or implementing a policy that discriminates against enrolled students that have not received a EUA vaccination, including (Sec.1):

    • Implementing segregated seating based solely on a students vaccination status;

    • Requiring that a student wear a face mask solely based on their vaccination status;

    • Requiring a student or their family pay a different fee for admission to a school-sponsored activity or event if they have not received a EUA vaccination; or

    • Implementing a policy that prohibits a student from participating in a school-sponsored interscholastic athletic activity.

  • Defines “EUA vaccination” as a vaccine authorized by the United States Food and Drug Administration for emergency use (Sec. 1).
