Title: Establishes the Right for Laid-Off Hospitality Workers to Return to their Jobs
Vote to pass a bill that establishes the right for laid-off hospitality workers to return to their jobs.
Requires the state’s casino, hospitality, stadium, and travel-related employers to honor their former employees, who were laid-off as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, right to return to their former positions as the COVID-19 pandemic recedes and business returns (Sec. 3).
Classifies “laid-off employee” as an employee (Sec. 16):
Who was employed by an employer for not less than 6 months during the 12 months immediately preceding March 12, 2020; and
Whose most recent separation from active service for that employer:
Occurred after March 12, 2020; and
Was due to a governmental order, lack of business, reduction in force, or another economic, nondisciplinary reason.
