Title: Authorizes Hospitality Taxes be Used for Repairs in Tourism Areas Affected by Flood Damage
Vote to amend and pass a bill that authorizes hospitality taxes to be used for repairs in tourism areas affected by flood damage.
Authorizes control and repair of flooding and drainage within or on tourism-related spaces (Sec. 1).
Authorizes site preparation for items including but not limited to demolition, repair, or construction (Sec. 1).
Requires revenues to be expended exclusively on public works projects with the intent to eliminate or mitigate the effects of recurring nuisance flooding (Sec. 2).
Prohibits the use of revenues to pay claims or otherwise settle litigation due to the harmful impacts of flooding (Sec. 2).
Establishes the allowance for delay of plan submission from local governments until December 31, 2021, due to the effects of COVID-19 (Sec. 3).
