Vote to pass a bill that amends certain requirements of the records expungement process.

Highlights:

• Amends previous law to specify that anyone in the physical custody of the Department of Public Safety serving a sentence of hard labor shall not be permitted to file a motion to expunge an arrest record which did not result in a conviction of a misdemeanor or felony offense (Sec. 1).

• Repeals the secondary waiting period for records expungement for incarcerated individuals already eligible for multiple records expungements for an arrest that resulted in jail time or a misdemeanor conviction during the last 5-10 years (Sec. 1).
