Title: Amends 2019-2020 State Budget to Appropriate Funds for the COVID-19 Emergency
Vote to concur with house amendments and pass a bill that amends the 2019-2020 state budget to appropriate funds for the coronavirus emergency.
Appropriates $84.1 million to the Department of Resources, Recycling, and Recovery for waste reduction and management (Sec. 1).
Appropriates $500 million from the General Fund to any item for any purpose related to the March 4, 2020 proclamation of a state of emergency (Sec. 2).
Authorizes incremental appropriations of $50 million if deemed necessary (Sec. 2).
Prohibits the total appropriation from exceeding $1 billion (Sec. 2).
Specifies that it is the intent of the Legislature to develop strategies for inclusion in the Budget Act of 2020 to assist individuals, nonprofit organizations, and small businesses experiencing economic hardships due to the impacts of COVID-19 (Sec. 3).
