Vote to pass a bill that authorizes private marijuana cultivation.
Authorizes a designated caregiver to cultivate marijuana for therapeutic use, and permits qualifying patients and designated caregivers to donate excess marijuana to other qualifying patients (Sec. 1).
Authorizes the cultivation of marijuana for therapeutic use as long as the cultivation does not exceed the following (Sec. 6):
Eight ounces of usable marijuana;
Any amount of unusable marijuana; and
Three mature marijuana plants, 3 immature marijuana plants, and 12 seedlings, where the plants are not publicly viewable.
Defines “designated caregiver” as an individual who (Sec. 2):
Is at least 21 years old;
Has agreed to assist with one or more (no more than 5) qualifying patients in the therapeutic use of marijuana;
Has agreed to cultivate marijuana for therapeutic use;
Has never been convicted of a felony or any drug-related offense; and
Possesses a valid registry identification card.
Defines “seedling” as a marijuana plant that is less than 6 inches tall (Sec. 4).
Specifies that an alternative treatment center shall not be limited in the number of seedlings it can possess or cultivate (Sec. 17).
