Title: Authorizes DMV to Renew and Replace Limited-Term Driver's Licenses for DACA Recipients
Vote to concur with Senate amendment and pass a bill that authorizes the DMV to renew and replace limited-term driver's licenses for DACA recipients whose status may have been altered due to federal immigration policy changes.
Specifies that an individual is not required to prove their legal presence in the United States when applying for a limited-term identification card, a limited-term driver license, or a limited-term driver permit if (Sec. 3):
The Department of Transportation previously issued a limited-term identification card, a limited-term driver license, or a limited-term driver permit to the applicant;
The applicant shows an Employment Authorization Document issued under category C33, A12, or C19; and
The Employment Authorization Document of the applicant expired on or after August 1, 2014.
Repeals section 3 on December 31, 2021 (Sec. 4).
Declares the existence of an emergency and specifies that this Act is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, and safety (Sec. 7).
