Vote to pass a bill that authorizes an individual to request a gender change on their birth certificate without having to get a doctor's certificate verifying that the individual has had a surgical gender change.

Highlights:

• Authorizes an individual to request a change to the gender on their birth certificate by submitting an application form to the state registrar (Sec. 1).  

• Repeals the requirement for a medical certificate from an individual's physician indicating that the individual's gender has been changed through a surgical procedure (Sec. 1).

• Authorizes a parent or guardian to submit the application on a minor’s behalf (Sec. 1).

• Specifies that the 3 gender options are female, male, and undesignated/non-binary, and the fee for issuing an amended birth certificate is $6 (Sec. 1).
