Title: Minimum Wage Increase
Vote to pass a bill that would increase the state's minimum hourly wage to $7.25 by January 1st, 2008.
-Sets the state minimum wage to $6.20 as of April 1, 2007 and $7.25 as of January 1, 2008 (Sec. 1A). -Allows employers to pay a lower wage of at least $5.30 as of April 1, 2007 and $6.35 as of January 1, 2008 to employees who have been employed by them for less than ninety days (Sec. 1D). -Gives employers until July 1, 2007 to comply with the new requirements (Sec. 2).
