Vote to pass with amendment a bill that increases the individual campaign contribution limit.

Highlights:

• Requires contributions for each election cycle that are given to a candidate by an individual or political committee to not exceed the following (Sec. 11):

• $1,990 for candidates for office of governor and lieutenant governor;

• $990 for candidates for state office in statewide election;and

• $530 for candidates in any other public office.

• Requires the combined monetary contributions for all political committees in each election cycle to not exceed the following (Sec. 13):

• $5,600 for state senate candidates; and

• $3,400 for state house candidates.

• Establishes an independent mediator to inspect financial reports and statements in order to ensure compliance with the provisions of this bill (Sec. 7).

• Authorizes the attorney general supervision over attorneys prosecuting violations of noncompliance (Sec. 3).
