Vote to pass a bill that prohibits performing an abortion solely because the fetus has a genetic disposition to Down's Syndrome or other abnormality, effective November 1, 2017.

Highlights:

• Prohibits a physician from performing an abortion if the physician has knowledge that the patient is seeking one solely because the fetus has a genetic disposition to Down Syndrome or some other abnormality (Secs. 3-4).

• Specifies that any physician who violates this law may be liable for damages, convicted of a misdemeanor, fined a minimum of $10,000, or subject to a revoked or suspended medical license (Sec. 5).
