Vote to pass a bill which amends the public education funding formula.
Highlights:
Requires a minimum salary of $45,500 for new full-time certificated instructional staff and $50,500 for new full-time certified staff that have three years of experience, adjusted annually with inflation (Sec. 104).
Requires K-12 institutions to perform a wage analysis every six years in order to keep up with the salaries of comparable occupations (Sec. 105).
Requires a minimum state allocation of $70,824 to certified instructional staff and $170,159 to certified administrative staff, adjusted annually with inflation (Sec. 102).
Increases funding for professional learning days for certificated instructional staff, administrative staff, and classified staff (Sec. 106).
Limits district’s maximum levy percentage to 24% by 2021 (Sec. 201).
Reduces the average class size in career and technical colleges beginning in the 2019-2020 school year (Sec. 301).
Increases funds for education-related services in middle schools and high schools including but not limited to parental involvement programs and school counseling services (Sec. 301).
