Title: Prohibits Abortion After 24 Weeks of Pregnancy

Vote to require physicians who perform abortions to instead deliver and attempt to save fetus after 24 weeks.

Highlights:

  • Requires a physician who determines the patient to be suffering from a physical condition posing an immediate, serious risk of death or irreversible physical impairment of such patient to: (Sec. 5)

    • Terminate the pregnancy by inducing labor or delivering the fetus by caesarean section; and

    • Not intentionally cause the death of the viable fetus prior to or during delivery and provide life-sustaining support to the viable fetus.

  • Classifies violation of the provisions of this bill as a felony offense (Sec. 5).
