Vote to pass a bill that amends the formula for school funding.
Highlights:
Requires the computation for school funding to be based on a school district’s “available local resources” which is a combination of the local revenue from the following sources (Sec. 945):
Local property taxes; and
Corporate Personal Property Replacement Taxes.
Appropriates supplemental state aid to school districts that have a certain concentration level of children from low-income households (Sec. 945).
Requires the state to provide a school district with supplemental funding if the school district’s funding is decreased by more than $1,000 per pupil due to the provisions of this bill (Sec. 945).
