Vote to pass a bill that increases the minimum hourly wage.
Highlights:
Increases the minimum wage from $8 per hour to the following amounts (Secs. 1-3 & 6-8):
$9 per hour, effective January 1, 2014;
$10 per hour, effective January 1, 2015; and
$11 per hour, effective January 1, 2016.
Increases the minimum wage annually by the percentage increase of the consumer price index (CPI) for the previous 12 months and rounded up to the nearest $0.05 (Sec. 4).
Requires the minimum wage to be at least $0.50 higher than the federal minimum wage (Sec. 5).
