Title: Public Campaign Financing Act for Candidates for the General Assembly
Vote to pass a bill that creates a public fund to provide financing for election campaigns beginning on January 1, 2007, which shall include appropriations by the governor of at least $7.5 million and funds that citizens chose to earmark on their taxes. The bill sets limits on the amount of money a candidate can accept prior to qualifying for public funds, establishes requirements that a candidate must meet in order to qualify for public funding and sets limits on spending during the campaign for participating candidates running in State Senate and State House of Delegates elections.
