Title: Campaign Contributions by Procurement Contractors

Vote Smart's Synopsis:

Vote to pass a bill that requires prospective contractors seeking to do business with the state or a local public body to disclose campaign contributions given by themselves, a family member or a representative to a public official who is in a position to award, or influence the award of, the contract in question, as well as contributions to appointees to the state board of finance. The contractor must report all such contributions that exceed a total of $250 over the prior two years. If there have been no contributions, the contractor must disclose this information. The bill adds a provision to another law requiring appointees to the State Board of Finance to disclose all campaign contributions made to a political candidate over the past five years, as well as all tax liens, lawsuits, and judgments filed against the appointee during the prior ten years.
