Requires Internet dating services that offer services to Connecticut members to provide members with a safety awareness notification that includes a list of the following suggestions (Sec. 1):
Use caution when communicating with strangers;
Never include your last name, email address, home address, telephone number, place of work, or any other identifying information in an online dating profile or initial email messages;
Cease communications with any person who pressures you for personal or financial information;
Always inform a friend or family member where you are going and when you will return when meeting face-to-face with another member;
Always provide your own transportation to and from a date; and
Always meet in a public place.
Requires Internet dating services to provide the safety awareness notification to all Connecticut members at the time of registration (Sec. 1).
Defines a "Connecticut member" as a member who provides a Connecticut billing address or zip code when registering with an Internet dating service (Sec. 1).
